Before I went on vacation a few weeks ago, someone provided a screen capture of Mr. Scwhamp and we had a nice discussion about him. I would remind folks again of this page that Allan and I worked on together in tribute to the great non-speaker himself. I have listed all known Schwamp appearances. A few of them he is called by name, some he is just in the background, and a few he is waaay in the background.

I remember someone made the understatement of the Schwamp discussion by saying..his hair looks like a Toupee. We have all long thought that and discussed that, and its part of the Schwamp mystique. I once said that he was seen running down main street in Mayberry with the wind blowing through his hair..until he finally caught up with it and put it back on his head :) One trained noticer comment from the Church Benefactors..When Aunt Bee gives the price of the Choir Robes she adds "plus state tax". Wouldn't you think that the church would be Tax exempt? I enjoyed the discussion of Leon. My theory is that he eventually became Sheriff and served the prisoners Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches and water.
