My take on this subject is times were a lot different in the 60's. I am 40 and can remember in the summertime after school let out for the year, I would get up at 8 or so and only come home for dinner and snack time. I would be home by dark. I remember those times fondly. I made quite a few life friends. I now have 3 daughters and even though we live in the country I watch them like Opie watched his baby birds. Maybe I am missing this 1 by a mile but thats how I see it.
