Fans of that show very fondly remember him as the one and only Gus the Fireman, Beaver's adult friend. I remember Burt also popping up once as a school janitor on "Our Miss Brooks" in the 1950s and several times on "All in the Family" and "Phyllis" in the 1970s. Look for other TAGS castmembers on "Beaver" too, most notably Howard McNear (as a barber named Andy!) and Hal Smith (as a restaurant manager).
