I am kinda wondering if the actress that was discovered in a chorus line on
TAGS was Jodie Foster. There was a color episode which may have been a late
TAGS or early Mayberry RFD. In it Millie took over production of a children's
play from Clara. Clara's play selections tended to be dramatic and kinda
symbolic, and everyone was tired of them. Millie selected a children's story
which everyone thought would be cute.
It was later found out that before coming to Mayberry, Millie had performed
in a chorus line. People worried she'd have an unsavory influence on the
kids, but Sam stuck up for her. At the end of the play, she had Mike sing "A
pretty girl is like a melody" to all the little girls in costume like a chorus
line. Jodie was one of those girls. Everyone loved it, including Clara who
decided that the next year they'd do Little Red Riding Hood with a wolf chorus
line.
There's my two cents, which I still haven't gotten stretched yet.
