Who did the voice of Aunt Bee?<<< I believe Karen Knotts (Don's real-life daughter) was the secretary at the newspaper office where the grown Opie was editor. Perhaps someone else can confirm this. As to questions two and three, I'd have to watch the movie again, so I'll let others answer them. Now, I don't know who did Aunt Bee's voice, but wasn't it terrible?? (Hope I'm not breaking a rule with that comment!) It sounds "cartoonish" to me, not like a real woman's voice, and it didn't sound like Frances Bavier at all. I think that scene would have been better if that speaking part had been left out. Some brief, dreamy-like flashback clips of the real Aunt Bee (representing Andy's memories of her) would have been far preferable to a substitute voice-over, but maybe CBS didn't allow that (if it were even considered). That's my two cents, anyway.
