Made my annual trip to North and South Carolina last week and weekend. Got home on Monday. My family reunion was cancelled and I was not aware of it but it still was worth the trip to head to Mt. Airy and spend some time. Russell Hiatt at the barber shop remembered me and talked a long time about the show and other things. I of course had to have a pork chop sandwich at the Snappy Lunch. That is worth the whole trip. Nothing like it. So much to do there downtown Mayberry related. So anyone who is thinking of going should go. New this year I stopped at the Pilot Mountain (Mt. Pilot) State Park which you can go up to the top and look out. That was neat. I love this part of the U.S. I stayed just north in Fancy Gap, Va. There is a little shop there that trys to sell the pork chop sandwich but it is not the same as the Snappy one. It is good but not as gooood. They have an old squad car sitting out front and have some other things on the walls including newspaper articles when Andy has come home. Mt. Airy is also home of Donna Fargo famous country singer and the first Siamese twins Chang and Eng. They are buried nearby. Last year I found their grave. Stan Oliver Mechanicsburg, Ohio
