I was watching Monk last night and the FBI was called in on a case he & Capt. Stottlemeyer were working.
Monk was very Barney like in that he didn't know about any of the hi-tech equipment they were using he didn't even know about computers. Anyhow, just as in the 3rd season episode "The Cattle Thief" where the state policeman doesn't like Andy's old fashioned methods, the FBI man thinks his new fangled methods are better than Mr. Monk's old fashioned ones and dismisses him from the case. In "T C T", however, Barney stays behind and works w/Andy in "Monk" the Capt. defends Monk but sticks w/the Feds. Turns out Monk was right and he solved the case using old fashioned detective work just as Andy solved the cattle rustling case in "The Cattle Thief" Any TV shows that remind you of Mayberry?
