Best way to get them of course is in person. That way you know they are real....and have your pic taken with the star too if possible. Now with so many of the TAGS cast gone, that's not possible. I was able to meet and get autographs from most of the show years ago. Got three of Barney, also have Thel, Gomer, Otis, Earnest T, Andy, and Aunt Bea.
Never met Andy or Aunt B in person....very hard to do that anyway lol. I got hers by just writing to her and got it back not too long before she died. I really treasure that one from Siler City! The thing I remember most about all of them is how nice they were in person. No big show biz attitudes. Betty Lynne tallked to my daughter for a LONG time about teaching. She was so sweet. Hal Smith was just a neat guy. He even wrote me a letter after I met him. Don Knotts was so frail I felt sorry for him.....but he posed for pics with us after he had been signing photos and was worn out.
