I think he was just prouncing it the way he's heard it prounced by all the Southerners in NC. But the exagerated manner was delivered beautifully!!!! Kind of like getting a kick out of the way northerners prounce New Orleans. They aren't really sure how to prounce the way we do so they try a little Southern accent and it always comes out funny sounding. One thing Southern you never hear or see on TAGS is on the signs in businesses which is a tradition in the South - and that's "Y'all come back, now, you hear?". It was usually printed on signs as you left a business and most clerks would say it as they gave you your purchases. It gave you a warm fuzzy feeling but now in this new age it's barely "Have a nice day." Except in Mt. Airy. They still have it, making you feel welcome even when you're leaving. Thanks, Mt. Airy!!!
