Normally, no person can be put on a stamp in America unless the person has been dead for 10 years (exception: US Presidents, and then it's a year, then their next birthday, like it was with Reagan and will be with Ford). So that rules out Don Knotts (or Barney; there's no way they'd show a character who looked nothing like the actor) until 2016 but still allows the possibility of, say, Floyd. When the Postal Service had its "Celebrate the Century" series, "Star Trek" was represented with a shot of the Enterprise; "All in the Family" was represented by a shot of Archie's and Edith's chairs, and "Seinfeld" was represented with a shot of Jerry's apartment, no people in sight in any of those three.
