Both Andy and Don were masters of the "something's up" look.  If it was 
Andy, he most often about to pull something on Barney, but I remember it 
also when Andy figured something out.  If Barney gave "the look" it usually 
meant that he was about to try one of his "dumb ideas" (Gomer's description, 
not mine).

When executed by these 2 fine actors, the "looks" did as much to move the 
story as the dialog did.  I wonder if "the look" was scripted by the writer 
or if it came from the director?  And if it was a standard device on the set 
("OK, Don, when you deliver that last line, give us the look.")
