In my search for WBMUTBB history, I found the actual message I posted to
the Prodigy "Andy Griffith Show" subject listing the suggested chapter
names for our online chapter of TAGSRWC.

Below you will see my message from October 11, 1991. This document is
something I printed out on my old "dot matrix" printer back in 1991 The
message kind'a runs out at the bottom...I must only have the first page
of the note but I think it'll give you the feel of things. I have a
notebook with messages like this in it. Most are not as old as this one
but I know I've been enjoying looking through these old documents
related to our little corner of Mayberry. I hope you are enjoying them
as well.

The Pam mentioned below is Pam Rodda, one of our first members, the Bob
is our Bob Bravetti.

------------ Chapter Name Voting Request October 11, 1991 --------------

    ARTS CLUB
TOPIC: TV
TIME: 10/11 5:53 PM
TO: ALL
FROM: ALLAN NEWSOME (KDVS78A)
SUBJECT: ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW

I said that I'd post the choices for the chapter name on Thursday but I
didn't get to after all. So, I'm fixin' to post 'em now.

Here's what I did. I took all the names y'all suggested and looked 'em
over to see which one's had already been used
in one form or another. I couldn't use a lot of 'em 'cause they'd been
used by other chapters or were a lot like
something used by other chapters. So, please don't feel hurt if your
idea doesn't show up in the list of names.

What I'd like you all to do is reply to me privately with your choices.
That way I won't miss any and Prodigy
won't get on to us for being to personal on the public board. Please
vote on your top three choices. I'll add 'em
up and if there's some kind of tie or something, we'll vote on the one's
that tied.

Here are the choices, in no particular order:
1. Prodigy Chapter
2. My Home Town
3. "He can make smoke come out of his ears"
4. "I'm declarin' for you"
5. Bulletin Board
6. "Who's been messin' up the bulletin board?"
7. "Studing the old bulletin board, huh?"
8. "You pot me in charge of the bulletin board, Andy."
9. "The Boys at the Lab"
10. "Your heart was shaped in a bowl''

Y'all be sure to send me your votes. Remember, vote on 3, send it to my
private mail box, and please write out your
choice (not just the number). Write in votes will still be accepted.
I'm lookin' forward to hearin' from y'all and
maybe we can get our chapter off the ground.

Bob, "Oh, it's hot" out there in AZ. "People always talkin' 'bout the
weather but they never do anything about
it." Maybe you ought to move out here to the east. It wasn't near
that hot in Mayberry.

Pam, it's good to have you back in town. Those jobs countin' stuff ain't
easy. One, two, four, three, nine, I
know a bunch more numbers but not in a row like that. Eric, don't worry
about your sources. We'll keep ya'
straight if ya' need us to. We're just glad to have you in town.

I'd like to thank Pam and Bob for writin' to me on the board. I was
beginin' to wonder if y'all were gettin to see

------------ Printed Message Ends --------------

Happy 15th Anniversary everybody!!! Thanks to all of you who have
written in with your WBMUTBB memories. I'm certainly enjoying reading
them. Don't feel like you need to have been a member for a long time
to write in. I'd love to hear from everybody!
