>>>Hey To All The Cooks Out There...........can anyone tell me where I can
learn how to make cashew fudge? Holidays are a comin' and I think a pan of
cashew fudge would make wonderful gifts. I'm sure Thelma Lou has the recipe
but she's not talking. ---Shy Mary Grace

Thelma Lou surely did spill her "cashews" on her cashew fudge recipe. She
passed it along to Ken Beck and Jim Clark for their "Aunt Bee's Mayberry
Cookbook".

Thelma Lou told them her recipe for her Cashew Fudge was...
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 3/4 to 2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1 cup cashews

She instructed them to...
"Grease a 9-inch square pan. In a saucepan melt the butter and add the
brown sugar. Cook over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the
milk and continue cooking, stirring until the mixture boils. Remove from the
heat and allow to cool.

Gradually add the confectioners' sugar until the mixture is of fudge
consistency. Add the nuts. Spread in the prepared pain and cool. Makes 36
pieces." (If Barney isn't in the kitchen snitching....errrr, helping Thelma
Lou.

The person who ain't talking is Aunt Bee and her pickle recipe.
