Luke Comstock was played by veteran character Leo Gordon. One of Hollywood's "black hats", character actor Leo Gordon, began his career as an inmate at San Quentin, but rose from a life of poverty and petty larceny to become an actor, director, and successful writer of screenplays and novels. A veteran of 70 feature films, hundreds of TV roles and a frequent collaborator of "Horror King" Roger Corman, Leo Gordon died in Los Angeles California December 26th, 2000.
He was in many John Wayne movies, including Hondo. Also was in Bonaza, Maverick, and Gunsmoke. He wrote or directed 21 episodes of the tv show ADAM 12. After struggling with a brief illness, Leo V. Gordon died in his sleep at his Los Angeles, California home from cardiac failure on December 26, 2000.
