OK TAGS fans I need some help. We have a Christian Television station in Lima, OH that has an auction once a year to raise funds for the station. I felt led to donate my 18 x 24 inch poster of Barney Fife with Don Knotts autograph, a set of TAGS Pacific Trading Cards from Series 1 ... the hardest to find (it's 110 cards ... i put them in trading card sleeves in a notebook) and an 8 X 10 inch autographed picture of James Best as Roscoe P. Coltrain .. our own loveable guitar player ... Jim Lindsey.
The lady from the station emailed me today and asked what I thought the items were worth so she can advertise them. As we all know to any true Mayberry fan they are priceless but my son will never want all this stuff and I felt like it was for a good cause. WTLW shows TAGS every night and this is a huge auction cars, trips, lawn mowers, collectible sports stuff, furniture and everything. Can someone email and tell me what they are worth or at least what you would pay if you were buying them. I tried searching ebay and couldn't find any series 1 trading cards just series 2. I tried the Don Knotts autograph and did find a poster the same size (for $24 something I think) but after I read the description it was a copy of the original. I could find no autograph for James Best ... only Catherine Bach ... Daisy Duke on Dukes of Hazard. I got the autographs when I went to the Mayberry Squad Car Rendezvous events at Bob Scheib's farm in Bradford, Oh. As a writer, I've been fortunate to meet several cast members and our own Allan Newsome and the head Goober Jim Clark ... 'Hi Boys!' The auction is Sept. 9th so I want to get back to her ASAP. Also, soon I plan to offer my Hawthorne Village piece of Wally's Service Station on ebay ... any ideas as to what I should start it at. Sorry to be so long but this is for a really good cause. I want to help this station as much as I can. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it and while I don't have a lot of money to send .. this is a way I can contribute.
