Does anyone here work in law enforcment, or some other agency that has the
ability to check and see how many of the 50 states have issued a real license
plate with JL-327? When I had my squad car, I had Missouri license plate
JL-327. I believe Jim Clark still has it for Tennessee; Jack Fellenzer used to
have the Iowa JL-327 tag on his squad car, but last I heard he had moved to
Arkansas so maybe someone else in Iowa has it now.

I guess it's also possible, albeit unlikely, that somebody somewhere happened
to get that tag number by accident (by which I mean they didn't order
personalized plates, they just live in some state where the plates have 2
letters followed by 3 digits, and they got it by random chance).
