I assumed that Andy missed any Sunday service that he had to work. Sheriffin' is a 24-7 job. Andy had no time off, esp. if Barney and Cousin Virgil were on vacation in Raleigh. Mayberry was pretty crime free and Otis could take care of himself, but still...
