Andy mentions France in two early episodes (Ellie Comes to Town and A Feud is a Feud), and adds that he was "over there during the war." Presumably, he was serving in the United States Army at the time, but we don't know for certain that he ever served in any branch of the military (he may have been a reporter or something -- maybe even a spy!) He never mentions visiting Paris, though.
