I must agree with you George. I never heard the term POP growing up in fact we 
were forbidden to use it. My mother said the term was vulgar. It was soft 
drinks or coke-cola and then they would ask you what kind of coke-cola you 
wanted, royal crown, coca-cola, yada, yada.  Thanks for the memory.


"Speaking of "pop"...As someone who grew up in N.C. during the period when TAGS 
was made, I can't recall ever hearing soft drinks called "pop."   We always 
referred to them by name like "Pepsi," "Mt. Dew," etc.   And "Coke" was used as 
sort of a generic or general term that included all soft drinks since it was 
the most widely known and distributed."
