i have been a memeber for awhile now and notice alot of people on here seem to
miss the feel of small town america, well, i am here to tell you that small
town america still exists, and where i am from it is everywhere! i am from
parksley, virginia, a small town with a mayberry feel....don't belive me, then
visit www.parksley.com here you will find all the proof you need. if you
visit the page, one of the first pics you see is a picture of Dunn Street in
downtown parksley, the little yellow building to the left is our police
station...it is smaller than mayberry's!!!!!! and the red brick building to the
left is our own 5 and dime store........the store is jaxons (the j fell of in
the pic) but the little letters in the corner you see say "everything 5c and
up".........we don't have a cannon the ol' teddy took with his calvary but we
do have a civil war memorial....there is alot of mayberry type things in my
town and i would like to send an invite to everyone to come on
by our little town......where everyone knows your name, everyone waves whether
they know you or not, and where we still have a "lunch counter" in what used to
be our drugstore but is now the cafe....same stools for more years than i can
count........
