Gosh, I had forgotten all about JJ Newberry's! In the early 60s, Daddy was
overseas with the Marine Corps, and we were living in Santa Ana, Calif.
Although a real stretch of the budget, Mama took all 7 of us downtown on the
bus (she didn't drive) to see "Bambi" and then to JJ Newberry's for a soda.
This was a BIG treat for our family and I thank you all for invoking this
wonderful memory for me!!!
