>>>Also, I looooove the Paramount DVD sets. I have noticed one thing,
though--weren't there several opening sequences filmed in black and white?
>From watching the show on TV, I think I remember Opie growing up a little
every year. Paramount has used the same opening (with the littlest Opie)
for all the black and white episodes.

This is common practice when old shows are converted to DVD. Instead of
going to the trouble and expense of restoring the opening sequence for every
episode, they just do it once, they tack the same one on the beginning of
every episode in the DVD set. I was very excited when Jonny Quest came to
DVD a couple of years ago, but was disappointed to see that they used the
same credits on every episode. Quite a few TAGS actors provided voices for
JQ, including Jesse White, Everett Sloane, Keye Luke, Nestor Paiva, Tol
Avery, J. Pat O'Malley, Sam Edwards, and Janet Waldo, but you won't see
their names on the DVDs.

During the original run of TAGS, it was necessary to reshoot the opening
sequence every few years, since Opie was growing. I think they shot it
twice in black and white, and once in color, but I could be wrong.
