I checked out the webpage (go to
http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/AdvSearch?sofindtype=13&ssPageName=h:h:advsearch:US
and enter item number 250007486672) for the auction of the sheriff's badge,
photos, et al that sold for $2,025. It may be legit, but in reading the
description of an 8x10 signed photo, it says:
A 10" x 8" BLACK AND WHITE AUTOGRAPHED PHOTO OF ANDY; "TO HARRY, I ENJOYED
OUR PLANE RIDE, ANDY GRIFFIN".
If it was really signed that way, then I'd say this is another nickel with
the buffalo pointin' the wrong way.
I also question whether this is an original badge--it looks just like a
replica badge I bought several years ago for a few dollars...guess it's a moot
point now unless the purchaser wants to hire Neil Bentley to see if this is a
clear case of fraud and malfeasance!
