It is not really a modern day show but it does portray alot of the same traditional common sense and sincerity. That is the show " Bonanza " It was not a comedy but did have some humor.
I like the show " Everybody Loves Raymond " Everyone does not not seem to like Raymond very much at all. They are Dysfunctional. It does have lot of real life situations in the shows plot which everyone can relate. Also I think it was Janet that said that there are many different types of southern talk. Here in NC we do not drop our R's. We exsentuate them. Is that a word ? I have a few good friends in Va. but when they say about, or out it comes out sounding like BOOT. Everywhere in the south it is different. That is what makes us so unique. Barney was from WV. All consider him a tarheel native. His Best and most remembered artistic ablility was the portrayal of the beloved buddy, pal, cousin to Sheriff Andy Taylor, Deputy Barney FIFE. Without Don Knotts, there never would have been a Barney FiFe.
