I'm sorry to hear that she had alzheimers and that she passed away. Amzie
Strickland was one of those actresses who could play a wide range of ages. I
liked seeing her in The Dick Van Dyke show in the role of care taker of Rob's
elderly uncle (portrayed by Dick Van Dyke). She was able to convey her
character as a person who appeared sweet and caring, but deep down wasn't
really. When she inherited some money from that "old, dear man" and her
husband exclaims "We're rich" and she answers "I'm rich", you just know that
from now own she's calling the shots.
I tried looking her up on the "What a character" site and was very surprised
that I didn't she her, as she was in many of the TAGS era shows.
