Every town has its landmarks and favorite places to hang out as in Mayberry, well our local barber shop is closing down because Paul (Floyd) is being called home due to illness. Many a time I have set in his chair and discussed the local news, events around town and gossip (men don't gossip). Paul was diagnosed with leukemia a few weeks ago and we will no longer have a barber shop here in our small town. He had the same pictures of the types of haircuts you could get that Floyd had in his shop, you get a really good look of them in the episode when Floyed sells his shop to the big time developer from up North...There was a small table in the corner with a set checkers on it, except I never saw anyone play with them. I don't think the local sheriff will alow us to come up there and set around and gossip and play checkers like Andy did...Bye for now from Bill of the Desert soon to be Bill of Tennesee...
