I've been trying to figure out how to relate this to TAGS, cause I've been about to bust a gusset to tell somebody. Well, what I witnessed this week is about as rare as that Buffalo nickel with the buffalo pointing the wrong way. Wednesday night I got to the house here in Surfside Beach, SC and noticed a crowd of folks on the beach and a policeman shouting out orders. What was causing all the excitement was a Loggerhead Turtle had come up on the beach and was laying her eggs. No one was allowed to get very close or shine any lights while she was depositing her eggs. After she covered them up with sand and was ready to go back to the ocean (about 30 - 45 minutes I think) the policeman told everyone to shine their lights and show her the way to the ocean. That's when all the cameras started taking pictures like she was Tina Andrews come to town. And let me tell you that was one BIG turtle. The next day a lady park ranger took the eggs to a safe spot at Huntington Beach State Park so the baby turtles would have a better chance of survival. A lady showed her a picture of the turtle and she said she looked to be 30 to 35 years old and probably weighed more the 200 pounds. What a neat thing to witness. Sorry if I get a rude for talking about this when it ain't really TAGS related. But to me it was BIG. Plus I really did ask the policeman if he carried his bullet in his pocket. Turns out he's a huge TAGS fan too. Larry in Peak, SC But working in Myrtle Beach
