It could be the same reason we see Patrick Swayze briefly as his male self in 
"To Wong Fu, Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar" (he cross-dresses in the 
rest of the movie) and we see half of Mel Gibson's correct face in "The Man 
Without a Face" (in the book the whole face was disfigured).  Stars just like 
to be 
seen.

His distinctive hair style, though, could be a big factor.
