Sony/Columbia released Season 1 (1968 - 1969) of the drama-comedy HERE COME
THE BRIDES last week. A filming location featured in a majority of episodes is
Franklin Canyon Reservoir in Beverly Hills / Sherman Oaks, aka TAGS' Myers
Lake. The 'Bolt Brothers' logging camp scenes were often filmed on the same
lakeside trail shown in TAGS' opening credits; there's beautiful Technicolor
footage (restored) of this man-made reservoir.

Other TAGS connections include HCTB costars Hoke Howell ('Dud Wash') and
Henry Beckman ("Aunt Bee the Juror"). Guest star crossovers include William
Schallert ("Quiet Sam"), Elaine Joyce ("Helen the Authoress"), Jack Albertson
("Aunt
Bee's Cousin") and Will Geer (RFD's "Aunt Bee & the Captain").

I hadn't seen this show in almost 35 years, but I have fond childhood
memories of it (and had childhood crushes on costars Bridget Hanley and Susan
Tolsky). So, I picked this DVD up on an impulse buy, and am impressed by the
series'
writing and production quality... and overall sense of fun. Highly
recommended!
