I'm in and out of Henagar quite often, as they have a great drive-in theatre
there. (Longtime list members know me well enough to know I have a thing for
drive-ins, even curious about the one in Mt. Pilot where Barney took Juanita.)
Big excitment there a few years ago when it was shaken up by an earthquake,
sending all the oil cans and fan belts crashing to the floor in the nearby
Texaco.

For the record, I grew up in a nice small town of Glencoe, Alabama. It
wasn't crime free, had its own secrets, problems and troublemakers, and it was
a
bit close to a larger city (Gadsden) to be considered a Mayberry-like town but
it still may be why Mayberry itself resonates so much with me.
