For all of you Cane fans down south...great job! I'm a NY Rander fan from
Jersey & loathe the Devils. Our paper today ran great coverage of yesterdays
game. The BEST part was the section called "rating the participants". They
always use a photo of a head of someone & rate the players with this
photo...the devils Rangers match-up was Matteau. The Cane Devil match-up is
BARNEY FIFE!!! It states " OK, the series started in Raleigh,NC, not Mayberry.
But hey, since Mayberry doesn't really exist, we thought we'd do our game pucks
in honor of fictional character Barney Fife, the dutiful deputy on The Andy
Griffith Show. Call it a salute to the late Don Knotts." MADE MY WEEK!!!!
Brodeur, Elias & Madden got 1 head each...Ward, Whitney &Kaberle got 4 Barney
heads each....The heads read as follows...1 Knotts: Otis fooled you again.
2 Knotts: Need you buddy Andy to help you out...again.
3 Knotts: Maybe you could be sheriff
4 Knotts: Sheriff? You're better than that. Head to Southern
California, buy an apartment building, change your name & hang out at the
Reagle Beagle.
