I noticed that the plate number for the squad car was JL-327. Unfortuantely I haven't saved all my other digests so don't know if this number has been bandied about or not. Also, from that episode, Helen is referred to as (S)Andy's fiance - did I miss the episode where he formally proposed???? Granted I don't watch the colored episodes much, but I don't remember if he did. One more thing - I grew up in the 50's, but in a community very much like Mayberry, and I don't ever remember wearing shorts, at least not after 6 or 7. I doubt I would have had any skin left on my knees...
