I am sad to hear about Alberta Nelson and recently about Harvey Bullock, both
great losses.
Lydia pointed out that "most of the time it was ironed jeans and dress
buttoned-down shirts"
Opie tried to do something about his own comfort during hot weather by coming
to dinner shirtless, but Aunt Bee scolded him for being a naked savage. Oddly
enough, he was still wearing jeans.
The only other time I saw him in shorts was when Aunt Bee bought him and Andy
those father and son matching outfits for CA.
Being born and raised in the N Texas area, I can tell you a thing or two
about being hot. I agree that a person should quench their thirst first, but
putting some water on your head and neck will cool you down some.
