Ol man Perkins must not have had the dancing prowess of Mr. Schwump. Although
they both came stag to dances, Mr Schwump is out there cutting a rug whereas we
don't see Mr. Perkins dance by. I wonder why neither chose to come (as Opie
put it) drag.
By the way, how did stag lines work? Did the available men wait for ladies
to approach? That seems unlikely. Or did they just stand there and as soon as
an available lady came in, the first in line asked her to dance?
