There was one episode in 1960 (Don't remember mane of episode) where barney has parked the squad car with the drivers door next to a mailbox and is climbing out of the drivers window (or maybe just leaning out) and you can see the front license plate and it was DC-269 in that episode. All other episodes as far as I know, the plates were JL-327. The movie folks are so attentive to details, that they used the correct color schemes which for NC was even years (60, 62, 64, etc.) were an orange yellow background with black letters and the odd years (61,63,65, etc.) were opposite with black background and orange yellow letters. a good example was the gold truck episode, when Andy is chasing the truck you can see the plate is black with light letters (being that it is in black & white). phil
