I'm rarely a picky person. But I guess today I'm in one of those picky moods
that Laura Lee Hobbs says will be the death of her. So
excuse me while I find a minor point and pick it to death. My apologies to
Laura Lee.
You know, the characters on my best loved show were never dressed warmly
enough for North Carolina. I mean, the show took place mostly during the
school term which would
mean all of the winter months would be covered, and yet they would rarely be
wearing a coat or acting like it was really cold outside. Yes, North Carolina
is in the
South, but so is Mississippi. And I can tell you that even here it gets cold in
the
winter.
I know the filming took place in southern California (of all places) and that
explains the attire. And I know why North Carolina was Andy's chosen place of
residence. So it's not
so much "my best loved show" that I'm really complaining about. They did do the
best they could considering they were filming in California, of all places.
But other shows often choose a cold climate for their locale, film in CA (of
all places), and it is so
obvious the people are never experiencing cold weather that it can spoil things
for me. The characters will talk about how cold it is and there will be "snow"
on the ground, and yet when the people come in the house, someone will leave
the door
wide open! You just know that if it were really cold outside, no adult would
forget
to close a door. Have they all lived in LA so long that they have forgotten
what winter feels like? They do other things that let on they are not really
cold, too.
This NEVER happened on TAGS. I told you it was my best loved show and with
good reason! This show had smarts. Sure a mistake was made here and there--
they are only humans and if they hadn't, heaven only knows what'd we be talking
about all these years later. I might not have had that fling with Butcher Boy.
Good Times, Good Times.
Lydia,  I hate it when people get too involved over trivia; I don't mind picky;
but I
hate trivia trivialities
