An older couple were lamenting the sad fact that all their children were no
longer
living in their home.
The father said how empty the house seemed now.
The mother replied that, yes, it surely did seem empty. But haven't we made
the world nice and full?
This story really happened because the parents were people in my Sunday School
class. Now, I don't know if they watch TAGS. But it sure sounds like they do.
In his tenure at TAGS, Mr. Bullock has penned many a fine story and many a
quotable line.
But none much finer than the line from "Opie the Birdman."
Opie: "The cage sure seems empty, Pa."
Pa "Yes, Son, the cage sure seems empty. But don't the trees seem nice
and
full?"
The man's a poet, and we are two of his biggest fans. It's high time we told
him so.
