I don't know if I've mentioned it here or just thought about it. The identity of Mr. Schwamp is probably an unsolvable mystery, but I DO recall Andy Griffith discussing it on one of the anniversary shows - probably about the 25th or so. Unless I've been dreaming, I remember Mr. G. talking about the Lodge episode where Mr. Schwamp was to pour a root beer (I think) from the taps and he (Mr. S.) was overly nervous - I guess since it was his big moment, kinda like Goober eating all those pancakes. I don't recall that Mr. G. gave the actor's name - probably not. I've got the tape somewhere, but I've moved a couple of times since then. Anyone else recall this?
