Laura Lee Hobbs wants me to clear up any misunderstandings. I am not saying that Barney did not love Thelma Lou enough to marry her earlier. I merely asked the question if you thought so based on how soon he SEEMED to recover from her marriage. Maybe the speed of recovery meant something, maybe it didn't. It's all in the eyes of the viewer. I feel like it was really to try to end the show on a happier note (but impossible) and like it's basically a sign of Barney's immaturity. He can perk up pretty quick because his reactions are all still kid-like. When he is happy, he is real, real happy; and when he is sad, there is no gloomier looking soul on this earth. But the good part of Barney--the strong part--is his ability to bounce back from whatever has gotten him down. Barney just will not stay down for long. He will survive. While he may not be to sharpest knife in the drawer, somehow Bernhard P. Milton Oliver Fife just keeps on going strong. And you've got to admire that.
Lydia, I can't stand a man who is old in his heart. I don't mind a man who is a little young in his knees or a little weak in his back, but I can't stand a man who is old in his heart. _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
