I too have a hard time watching the Class Reunion episode in which Thelma Lou returns, newly married. It is so painful as I can put myself in Barney's place and feel such a heartache. I don't mean to sound callous but I'm actually tickled for him when Nettie fusses over him and makes him feel good about himself again. Sometimes what one does to get over a major setback is grievously misunderstood by others and I think that is what befell our beloved deputy. I was so thrilled in Return to Mayberry when they got back together again and remember, her ex turned out to not be the foreman after all! I always thought that was a very humorous nyah, nyah, nyah on behalf of Barney!!
