>>I'm not sure why, but those last two shows of season five seem to have a different feel to them--more like the color episodes than the B&W's. It's not just that Barney doesn't appear. I can't quite put my finger on it, but when I viewed them, I felt like I was already into season six. Anyone else have that reaction?<<
I too had that reaction. To be honest I felt like season 5 and even some of season 4 had a different feel. I felt like the writers fell back too much on Barney's bungling as a plot line and Andy seemed to just be upset all the time. They didn't have that light hearted happy feel. Not that there weren't plenty of excellent ephisodes in the bunch. But I just didn't like how often Andy was yelling at Barney. In the first 3 seasons he never yelled at Barney or if he did it wasn't that often. By the way now that I have finished all 5 seasons I wrote a program in MS Excel that randomly chooses a disc for me to watch among all 5 seasons and then keeps track of which ones I have watched so I don't repeat any until I have watched all 5 seasons again.
