I was over at the Dime Store buying up my annual supply of rubber hoses when I asked my partner in crime, Laura Lee Hobbs, if she--trained noticer extraordinaire that she is-- noticed something on the excellent episode entitled "Three Wishes for Opie" you know the one when Barney gets the magic kit and starts predicting the future?
What I noticed was during the scene where Opie runs up to Barney to make his third wish and he is all out of breath, well, what I noticed was that Opie looked a sight. His hair was a mess and his shirt was all wrinkled. Not usual for our Opie even though earlier Andy had warned him if he didn't slow down his lungs would burst. Even then he was neat looking, even if out-of-breath. And later when he came back to verify his wish with his Pa and Miss Crump present, his is all neat and combed (couldn't tell if he is wearing a different shirt or if it is the same one just pressed nicely). I asked Laura Lee Hobbs if she had ever noticed this and, of course, she said she had, she just thought it was SO obvious as to not need bringing up. That girl! I got my rubber hoses and left--in a huff.
