I hate to be the one to correct Paul, but Colombo's first name, as supplied by John S. is NOT Phillip--and read no farther if you don't want to know, but it is Frank. As John explained in His Post, this name was on the Lt.'s badge and he was able to see it by zooming in on it when Colombo showed it to the suspect, Eddie Albert, during one of the series earliest episodes. I think that will stand up under scrutiny as when this series was made no one dreamed of dvds and people being able to see something like the Lt.'s badge with the clarity that we can today.
