Andy Griffith has a whole comedy routine about slits in shoes. Anybody remember it? Regarding slits on the soles of shoes, my daughter was in a show on a devilishly slipper stage. So the dancers put Coke on the soles of their shoes. It worked well but had to be reapplied frequently. Not so good for tap shoes though.
