It took me years of watching to finally catch on to what Andy was really
selling. I think maybe the funny bone is connected to the heart bone and he
knew that if he could snag us with laughter he could reel us in with kindness
and get us all the way in the boat with love. Dont think there has been a show
since then that could touch our hearts and our funny bone in the same episode.
My son and myself watch our taped shows every night and a lot of times I`ll
miss him and he will be in our room watching by his self, and you know that
just warms my heart to the core and makes me proud as a peacock. I think we are
in a minority though most people cant see what the show is really about and I
think your right Anita ,, Andy is the best thing friend Mayberry ever had.I
wish I could close my eyes and tap my boot heels together and go to Mayberry
and be at the wall where those two older boy`s wrote that poem about
Barney,,,,, There once was a deputy named Fife who carried a gun and a knife,
the
gun was all dusty and the knife was all rusty cause he never caught a crook in
his life.........Pa they took off faster than 2 hound dogs that backed into a
porcupine
