Thanks for the support, Debbie. I just wanted to mention that I don't
run Weaver's Department Store. I just do the web site. Jim "Burt
Miller" Clark does all the work at Weaver's for TAGSRWC. He does
EVERYTHIGN all the way down to filling the orders.
As a reminder, your purchases at Weaver's help to support TAGSRWC and
the Mayberry related activities that TAGSRWC helps to sponsor throughout
the year.

TAGS fans,
My novel "Murder in Mayberry" is going to be rerun
over at http://www.dailyread.com. The formatting is
supposed to be a little more readable, and you can
access it through a cell phone now! (You can. I
can't. I don't have a cell phone. PTL!)
Also, if there's anyone out there who knows who I
could contact to see about getting the rights to do an
actual print version of the novel, would you contact
me?
Thanks and happy motorin'!
Sam

Last week a Raleigh radio station was running promotions for a live broadcast
from the Triangles new amusement park Mayberry USA that Friday. I didnt
hear any of the broadcast that day, but a coworker said they had call-in trivia
questions and interviews with people at the park.
Well today being Monday, another coworker asked me if I had heard about the
broadcast, then reminded me that Friday was April 1st and that promoting
Mayberry USA was their April Fools Day joke. Apparently it was pretty well
done with a number of people calling in to ask where the park was and wanting
more information. It was probably a good thing that I missed the broadcast - I
probably would have been a "Barney Sucker" too.
I guess next year theyll be going to the old folks home and waxing the steps
or loosening bolts on the wheelchairs.

I was watching an episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show and there were four
characters who had connections to Mayberry. The following were all on the
one episode of Dick Van Dyke.
1. The rich citizen of Mayberry who would not allow the church to have a
bell, but who later changed his mind. This was on a Mayberry RFD episode.
2. The man who wanted to buy the Taylor house when Barney went into real
estate played a lawyer for a defendant.
3. Mary the nurse played a defendant who was accused of smuggling jewels.
4. The thief who threw a briefcase full of money down a dry well on
Ferguson's farm was a juror at the trial.

>>>Did Otis appear just appear in the black and white shows only? I don't
remember him in any color shows but I don't watch them as faithfully as b &
w shows. If he is only in the b & w shows then why was he written out?<<<

We could also include the TV movie ³Return to Mayberry,² in which a reformed
Otis has become the town¹s ice cream salesman.

Hey fellow Mayberrians. I found a few sets of TAGS "lounging pants" at
the local Wal-Mart in Kissimmee. I have 1 small, 1 medium and 1 large
size for sale ($12.50 ea.) and will bring them to the Mayberry weekend
in Cocoa next Saturday. If you're interested let me know and we'll
"hook up".
Blessings,
Tom Rusk
