Hey Kim...

I would be glad to give you that recipe for Peanut Butter Avacado dip... but
you never know... I may just leave out a very important ingredient!... then
we'd quit talkin' 'cause I'd hear you suspectin' me over my kids' play intercom
system! So, how 'bout we just forget it?

Tuesday night Turner Classic Movie Channel aired a bio called "The
Adventures of Errol Flynn." (right before showing "The Adventures of Robin
Hood.")

At the beginning of the program they showed a clip from a TV show (name
unknown) with three people each claiming to be Errol Flynn. One was Errol
himself, one was comedian Louise Nye, and the last one was Don Knotts.

If you can image Don standing up and saying "I'm Errol Flynn" you know how
funny it was.

Gomer says "Hey!"

I have always wondered what the different pictures are above the book case
over the book case in the jail. They are different in the episodes, but
there seems to be only 2 main ones.

Fellow TAGS fans:

Take a moment today, April 7, and think about R.G. Armstrong, known
affectionately as Old Man Flint, as he is 88 years old.

I don't recall seeing this type of haircut in the show either. Maybe that
is the style Floyd tried on the cats in his training days and it scared
the townsfolk away from them. Now in rural coastal Texas, we did not have
anything called a butch haircut. However, we did use a product we would
purchase at the dime store called Butch Wax to make the flat top stand up
in front. It was kind of pinkish in color and cost about 15 cents for a
good sized jar. And when we had our hair cut next to the scalp--like the
military guys--we called it a burr. Don't ask me where that term came
from, but I sure wore a burr for a few years.

Best of luck to you and yours.

For years I have noticed that haircut chart that hangs on Floyd's
tonsorial parlor wall. I remember that chart in the barber shop that I
used to go as a kid in Sacramento. It showed the different styles of
haircut your could get. Flat top, butch, Ivy league etc. However, we made
a distinction between flat tops and butch haircuts. A flat top was
literally flat on top and short on the sides, whereas a butch was cut real
short all over the head. Butch hair cuts were also called a buzz. However,
I can see how the term heiny could be used also.

Hello all, just thought I might share my latest Mayberry Moment with you. As
some of you know our daughter is planning her wedding for this fall. She is
planning her wedding for what will be our 28'th anniversary which is exciting
in itself. But I was thinking about the future and us someday being
grandparents and since Dana has light blonde hair and Jason has red hair....
well that is just a hop, skip and a jump from Dave and I possibly having our
own little "Opie" someday!!!

....I can dream can't I....

Bunny Caldwell . . . called Andy about sheriffin' business when he was trying
to be on vacation at home. Or as Aunt Bee said, "Oh, that Bunny Caldwell!"

I wonder what she looked like.

Last night I went to mid week Church services. I had heard that our new pastor
was a TAGS fan and last night he proved it. During the Bible study he was
talking about a situation where he had told some people they needed to "Nip it".

This morning on the way to work, my husband was driving so he got to pick the
radio station (WBAP if anyone in the N TX area is interested). Anyway, they
often have different guests come on and talk to the DJs. This morning was a
guy called "Natural Howard" who is modeled after another radio personality in
the area who talks about growing things organically. Natural Howard was
telling the DJs about his organic sculptures and mentioned his latest completed
work, a beautiful statue of Aunt Bee playing basketball. I couldn't help
thinking that it was appropriate since Aunt Bee and Clara played while
attending Normal School.
