A reminder to any one in or near upstate South Carolina that the Dillards
are coming to Walhalla on April 23. For tickets click on to _www.etix.com_
(http://www.etix.com) , then "music", then click on South Carolina on the map.
You'll see the show on that list. We hope to see some of you there. Let us
know if you plan to join in.
Everybody on the truck!

I happened to catch Flip Wilson I guess on TVLand Sunday morning. And who's
his guest starts but Jack Burns and Avery Schrieber. The year as 73, so this
would have been 7-8 years after Jack was Warren.
I had always thought some of Warren mannerisms that I'd seen with Burns and
Schrieber were things he worked out with Avery then brought to the show, but
the years don't work. It had to have been the other way. Jack carried his
Warrenisms over to his act with Avery.

I've already mentioned that I'm getting to teach the Bible Study series
during lunch here at work each Monday. Actually today is the last one, the
end of my 12 weeks.
But one of the folks went back and told their church about it and now I've
got a gig in another town! Heck, I figure if David Browning can make a
living goin' 'round makin' like Barney, I ought to be able to do it teaching
this stuff. No, wait a minute, I bet David charges for some of this stuff.
I knew there was a catch.
Like Calvin Coolidge said "I've got enough money to last me the rest of my
life as long as I don't have to buy anything." Or maybe Howard said that.

Gomer was pretty sloppy with a shotgun. (Lettin' it fall from the courthouse
roof an' all. Busted the stock.) But...how was he with his mighty M-14?! To
those w/clearer memories: What was Gomer's qualification w/this rifle.
Expert, sharpshooter or marksman? Also, did he earn a pistol badge? I
believe Sgt. Carter was expert/expert with both.

As I mentioned in the last issue, I sometimes forward really good postings on
to my friend Tessa. She responded to one in what I thought was an interesting
manner.
Posting: "When Darlene Mason told Andy that she grew up in Kansas, he did not
look
at all surprised, nor did he even mention that Helen was from Kansas. Of
course at this point Darlene did not know about Helen, but it would have
been the perfect time for Andy to say, 'Kansas, what a coincidence. My
girlfriend, Helen, is from Kansas.'"
Tessa:
"I don't know...this may prompt more questions than answers...like, why did
Andy hold back the fact that Helen was from Kansas?"
Made me smile. Hope you will as well.
(Her message was in blue. I have no idea how to make it--or what I'm now
writing--not blue. Ah, the vagaries of computers.)

What do you suppose causes that? I comment on the green tint on every
color ep, drives me crazy

Another good catch, as I've reported before, Andy had stepped on a few
snails, but at the Raleigh restaurant, he "Believed He'd Let the Snails
Go By"

You're right, andy must have been feeling a little guilty, he sure
didn't have Helen in his "Hip Pocket" like Barney used to say.

Noted previously by Paul, Me and I think in the Dave Fernandes book "The
Definitive Andy Griffith Show Reference" Good Catch. She kept the
disposal, and then bought a new one. There's some further noticin'
regarding the income tax thing from the tv prize show, but I'm wore out
from cipherin' these past few months and won't go into that just yet.
