I watch a lot of tv land and the western channel, and i just can't hardly
believe how many TAGS characters are on Gunsmoke. Helen, Goober, Floyd, Frank
Meyers, Mr. Flint, and some more that i can't seem to think of right now. Sure
do enjoy this site...many thanks to Allan and all of you who write in these
amusing and informative stories. Have a great Mayberry day!!

Did Sgt Carter fight in the Korean war or only WWII ? A definitve source on
the ID of his service ribbons and devices would be cool! Is him being a
D.I. just another step in advancement? Does Cpl Boyle leave because he's
promoted to sergeant?!

Below is the latest news from the Andy Griffith Playhouse that might be of
interest to members of WBMUTBB. I know a number of members have purchased a
tile and the price goes up after Friday, so there is still time. You can make a
purchase online as well.
Jeff
Raleigh,NC
The amphitheatre is progressing. The engraved granite tiles will be placed on
the platform in front of the stage at the amphitheatre beginning Monday, April
25. The price of the engraved 12x12 granite tiles is $150 through Friday,
April 22. The price of the tiles will then (on Monday April 25) go to $300 per
tile because engraving will have to be done on site.
The naming rights for the amphitheatre are also pending. The Surry Arts Council
is seeking a donor in the amount of $300,000. The amphitheatre will be named
after the business and/or family that makes this donation.
Approximately $250,000 has been raised to date for the facility. In addition,
there have been numerous donations of time, materials and services by many
individuals and businesses. The Summer Series at the amphitheatre will
kick-off on May 28. For a complete schedule of the summer events, call or stop
by the Surry Arts Council for a brochure or view the schedule on the website
www.surryarts.org.
For information on purchasing a tile or for more information about naming
rights, contact the Surry Arts Council at 336-786-7998 or [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hey Folks,
I don't know if this has been mentioned here on the digest or not.
Anyway, I was just checking on the Season Two set. Seems like there is only
31 episodes, yet there are 5 DVD's.
Season One had 1 more episode and 1 less DVD. Maybe some EXTRAS on Season
Two!! Sure hope so.

>"Were men more wimpy back then?"
I wouldn't say that.....remember it's a TV "Comedy" show.....and if you want
to analyze the episode - the women were basically controlled by their
husbands (credit cards that is...I call that pretty whimpy)....so let's not
demean EITHER sex by calling them "whimpy"!!!! Besides, he (Whimpy) will
gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today!
Harriet, cutting up my chicken's credit cards right now!
