In which episode does Floyd say who he was named 'Floyd' for, and "who" was he

Do we expect that Season 5 will eventually become available on DVD?
I know there's been no announcement about that yet, but I was just wondering

Unfortunately, that does not surprise me.
I think it is a large disgrace that we can't even express our nation's
history for fears of offending someone! Absolutely absurd!!
Perhaps the "Yankee's" of the list would feel different - but is there
someone out there niave enough to actually be offended that there is a
Confederate flag on top of the car??? Hello????? To place it in today's
times: that would be about like me being offended by all cars in the movie
having a bumper sticker supporting John Kerry.
I wouldn't turn around once for anything John Kerry has to say - but I could
care less if you choose to have a license plate on you're car that says
Kerry is Number 1.
I think you are living in the past to fly the "Confederate Flag" - but if
you want to fly that flag - who am I to say otherwise.
What about our Constituational rights??? Freedom of speech, religion,
freedom, and the press????? We are simply giving in and giving up those
freedoms by succumbing to the light-hearted demands of average-day Joe's who
are afraid at offending someone.
I say bring out what you believe in and don't be afraid to tell
someone...I'm sorry if I offend you but--get over it!!!!

Hello All,
We have been loving our season two DVD's. The commercial's are an especially
nice touch. They add just those few extra precious Mayberry moments. We liked
the letter from Ellen Brown informing Andy (and all of us) that she and Pierre
had indeed been wed. By the way... did anyone else notice in Barney on the
Rebound that when he dropped Thelma Lou off at the store that he was parked
quite close to the fireplug? Maybe he should have given himself and arrest.

You are not crazy. You are right. They did make a VW truck. It looks like
someone took a vw bus and cut it to make a truck but it actually was made by
the factory as a truck. My husband said he thaught it was called a type 3.
We are vw nuts. We have a 3 wheel tryke and we have had dune buggies and
rail cars. We ride with people that also have something VW, and go to a lot
of VW shows. So we see all kinds of things. This weekend we were in
Effingham, Il. at a great car show and saw a stretch vw bug limo, it looked
like someone stretched the beetle. It was so beautiful . I think it was made
in Spain, someone said.

I recently watched the episode wherein Barney is renting a room at Mrs.
Mendlebright's and I've always been disappointed that the writers depicted Andy
as condoning his breaking the landlord's rules. Even if they thought she was
being silly or overbearing, it was her home and she had every right to enforce
her rules. I can't imagine Ange being that way so I reckon the writers had a
brief lapse in judgement just as when they had Barn say something about women
needing to be roughed up a bit. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

Hey folks,
I *believe* we're begining to drift here. Let's stay on the topic of
The Andy Griffith Show and leave them Duke boys alone. I realize there
are connections with the actors but I believe we've gone past any
connections and are now just talkin' "Dukes" so let's the
http://www.hazzardnet.com/ site for any further discussion on them Dukes.
Thanks folks, I know you understand since one of our "rules" is to stay
on topics about Maybery related items.

Please pardon this email if someone has already sent in this news. But I
was just sitting down to read the current issue of my Capper's newspaper and
noticed this under the news briefs:
"Don Knotts will get the first star on what could become West Virginia's
version of Hollywood Walk of Fame. Morgantown, Knotts' hometown, will honor
the actor, best known as Deputy Barney Fife on television's 'The Andy
Griffith Show' later this year, and it hopes to eventually confer the honor
on other celebrities."
Such good news. Another well deserved recognition for ole Barn!

I didn't know Eddie Albert died, Gary! :-( First Ernest T. and now
Oliver. *sigh* May both these giants rest in peace.
The Untrained Voice: "In Opie and the Bully, has anyone noticed the picture

I noticed the exact same thing over the weekend, TUV. That pic looks
awfully familiar to me too but I can't place it. Does anyone else know? I
d like to have a print to hang in my house. :-)
Did you have fun in Linton, Ted? My brother-in-law and family live in
Bloomfield, not too far from Linton. He works in Crane, at the Naval Base
there. There's rumors that the base is going to close though so that's
going to devastate Bloomfield, a city that counts on that base and its
employees to survive.
Small world though, isn't it! I'm way up "nawth", in Michigan City.

I didn't think that Andy condoned Barney breaking Mrs Mendlebright's house
rules. Barney blew it on his own, smoked out her dresser and got the boot
for it. Mrs Mendlebright was the law in her own place and she administered
her own brand of justice. Now I haven't seen the uncut version of this
episode so there might be something I missed but I always got the impression
that to Andy, what Barney did in his own room was Barney's business. (If he
knew that Barney would end up setting up shop at the courthouse, Andy
would've nixed the pungent chili n' crackers. Maybe...)
Andy let's the adults be adults even though they act like kids.

>>>Was watching several of the Dukes of Hazzard re-runs, and the town looked

The first few episodes (13, I think) were shot in Covington, Georgia. After
that, it was filmed on a soundstage in Burbank.
>>>Besides Briscoe (Uncle Jesse) and Jim Lindsay (Roscoe P. Coltrane), what
other TAGS actors appeared on the show?
Hal Smith and Elinor Donahue were each in one episode (not at the same
time); Parley Baer and Norm Alden made a few appearaces. Other TAGS actors
to appear on Dukes include R. G. Armstrong, Morgan Brittany, Barney
Phillips, Doris Dowling, and J. Pat O'Malley
>>>The movie remake will be out soon, and I wonder if the General Lee will
still have my beloved Confederate Stars & Bars on the roof (these days of PC
usually nix that type of stuff).
The General Lee in the move does have the familiar flag on the roof, but if
you wanna get technical, that's not the "Stars and Bars." The "Stars and
Bars" was the nickname for the first official flag of The Confederate States
of America. This flag looked a lot like the US flag, which caused great
confusion on the battlefield. The flag on the Duke boys' car (the same flag
that so many folks get stirred up about nowadays) was the battle flag of the
Army of Northern Virginia, Robert E. Lee's outfit.
